TURTLE 147

An exploration catamaran designed as a marine habitat

TURTLE 147
An exploration catamaran designed
as
a marine habitat

A new reference
in the world of multihulls

The Turtle 147 is the result of a clear ambition: to design an ocean-going catamaran that is intelligent, robust, elegant, and sustainable. Measuring 14.70 meters in length and 7.85 meters in beam, it combines high-performance architecture with a simplified sailing experience.

Every detail has been carefully crafted for the sailor’s comfort: refined interior layouts, bright and airy cabins, a central island kitchen, and thoughtfully designed living spaces. The design, by Jean-Michel Kalfon, embodies Cataruga’s signature understated and distinctive elegance.

Designed to deliver autonomy and peace of mind, the Turtle 147 features unique innovations on a vessel of this size: reverse bows to reduce drag, an adjustable ballast system, ergonomic helm stations, 5.5 kW solar panels, and hybrid or electric propulsion.

Innovations

  • Transverse/longitudinal plating
  • Reverse bow
  • Heavy-gauge plating
  • Hybrid engines
  • Water and energy self-sufficiency
  • Mass balancing
  • Centralized Ship Heart management system

Comfort without compromise

A real living space designed for everyday comfort: Generous volumes, light-filled spaces, and welcoming cabins inspired by cozy retreats. The fully equipped kitchen with a central island invites sharing, while a wooden deck naturally extends the interior to the outdoors. The owner's cabin, located in the nacelle, offers a haven of preserved calm. Every detail fosters a fluid dialogue between interior and exterior, for an onboard experience reminiscent of the harmony of a home.

Handcrafted production,
precision and commitment.
Artisanal production, precision, and commitment. A human-scale shipyard balancing tradition and excellence.

The construction of the Tortue 147 takes place in Tunisia, in the coastal village of HERGLA.
This choice is not insignificant: it embodies our desire for territorial anchoring, in the service of an artisanal and collective adventure.

Around Jean SOMMEREUX and Julien BERNILLON, naval engineer, a team of skilled craftsmen works with passion. Each piece, each assembly, each weld is carried out by hand, in compliance with the rules of the art and the strictest standards. Here, quality is born from the gesture

Produce little, but produce better.

An ethical commitment that shapes our vision of sustainable yachting : respectful of life, built to last, to be lived, and to be passed on.

MATERIALS WITH HIGH ENVIRONMENTAL VALUE

Marine aluminum
Robust by nature, it stands out for its high resistance to shocks.
Its lightness optimizes buoyancy and reduces energy consumption, while its natural resistance to corrosion ensures great longevity.
Infinitely recyclable, its life cycle is exemplary, perfectly aligned with Cataruga's responsible vision.

Paulownia
Often called the "tree of the future," Paulownia grows at an astonishing rate and absorbs 10 times more CO₂ than most other species. Its rapid growth and ability to regrow after cutting help preserve primary forests, avoiding the exploitation of rare and fragile resources.
